Catriona Byrne

Catriona is originally from Hollywood Co. Wicklow and her parents and their ancestors are from Blessington and Lacken.

She attended University College Galway from 1995 to 1999 and obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) qualification, both at Honours Level. A Semester was also spent during this time at The Maine School of Law in the United States of America where all types of Dispute Resolution and Marine Law was studied.

Catriona qualified as a Solicitor in 2001 and is a member or the Law Society since this time having served her Apprenticeship in a General Practice in County Louth. She then worked post-qualification in two General Practice
offices before establishing her own Practice in Blessington, Co. Wicklow in 2007.

Catriona subsequently qualified as a Notary Public and also completed the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners Diploma in Trusts and Estates with The Law Society of Ireland. Catriona is also qualified as an Adult Literacy Tutor and is an active volunteer with the Blessington Free Legal Aid Clinic for several years and a member of the Dispute Resolution Authority of the GAA.

Catriona has always taken an interest in history and in particular in her Ancestry and has enjoyed tracing back her relatives to a her Great Great Aunt Margaret (pictured below) who left for America several generations ago.


Elder Care is also an area of interest to Catriona and she is actively involved in promoting the interests of the Elderly and Vulnerable locally.
